Thinking of Renting DVC Points this Fall or Holiday Season? You Should Look at Walt Disney World’s New Discounts First!

As of this morning, Walt Disney World has released some brand new room and package discounts for Fall and Holiday travel. First there is the “Magic is Here” offer for residents of Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia or West Virginia. There is also a Florida Resident offer that is even better, however the one I want to focus on is for Passholders.

Whenever rates like these are released, I always like to compare the pricing on what the cost would be for the week we will be traveling, especially the price to stay in a Disney Vacation Club. This year, we will be traveling the week after Thanksgiving (first week of December) which is one of the most popular weeks to travel for DVC Members. What I saw was astonishing. Some of the prices (with tax) are on par with the going DVC Rental Rates. So for the week, I selected, I only saw discounted rates for three Disney Vacation Club Properties. Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and Disney’s Old Key West. Here are the rate comparisons for the week of November 29 – December 6, 2020. Most are these rooms types are booked for this same week through DVC.

Cash Price: $2,805
Rental Breakdown: $17.21/pt

2 bedroom Standard – 223 points
Cash Price: $4,370
Rental Breakdown: $19.60/pt

As you can see here, the rates for 1 bedrooms range from $14.89/pt to $17.21/pt based on the price with taxes and the DVC point cost. So if you are eligible for one of these discounts and were considering renting DVC points for 1 bedroom this Fall or Holiday season, you definitely need to compare the new rates with that of renting. I am a huge fan of renting Disney Vacation Club points as you can save a ton of money, however it does come with some risk which was never more evident than with the Covid-19 Pandemic. If you book a room only discount directly through Walt Disney World, you have the option to cancel up to 5 days before arrival for a full refund. Also, only a one night deposit is required at the time of booking.

And DVC Villas are not the only resorts included in this offer. Here are some fantastic rates for the same week using the Passholder discount that I saw. All prices are room only with taxes.

Art of Animation:  Little Mermaid Room $1,130

Art of Animation:  Family Suites: $2,464

Disney’s Coronado Springs: Standard View: $1,330

Disney’s Coronado Springs: Tower Water View: $1,775

Disney’s Caribbean Beach: Standard View: $1,401

Disney’s Caribbean Beach: Water/Pool View 5th Sleeper: $1,498

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: Outer Bldg Garden View: $3,426

So if you are looking to travel to Walt Disney World this Fall or Holiday Season, I suggest taking a look at these rates and booking as soon as possible. These are some of the best resort discounts I have seen from Disney in a while and I expect them to book up fast.
